1998 Contractors of the Month

October 1998 - Refrigerated
Frank Prue is the Prime Refrigerated Division Contractor of the Month for October. Since joining Prime in November, 1996, Prue has had no cargo claims or no service failures. He has achieved the three-year level Prime Time Certified award for on-time performance earning him a gold ring with one diamond. Prue has completed a three-year lease with Prime's Success Leasing program and is currently working on his second. In the month of October, Prue logged 14,332 miles at an average fuel cost of 18 cents per mile.

October 1998 - Flatbed
Prime's Flatbed Division named Clarence Taylor its October Contractor of the Month. Taylor has a flawless record of no service failures, accidents, cargo claims or motorist complaints since joining Prime in September, 1997. He has achieved the two-year level Prime Time Certified Award for on-time performance. During the month of October, Taylor has logged 15,066 miles at an average fuel cost of 18 cents per mile.

September 1998 - Refrigerated
Buddy and Alisha Hall are the Prime Refrigerated Division Contractors of the Month for September. Since joining Prime in July, 1995, the Halls have had no cargo claims or motorist complaints. They have achieved the three-year level Prime Time Certified award for on-time performance earning them each a gold ring with one diamond. The Halls have completed a three-year lease with Prime's Success Leasing program and are currently working on their second. In the month of September, the Halls logged 25,633 miles at an average fuel cost of 19 cents per mile. "Buddy and Alisha are hard workers and they always get the job done accurately," said fleet manager Steve Larsen.

September 1998 - Flatbed
Prime's Flatbed Division named Robert and Judy Morris its September Contractors of the Month. Morris' have a flawless record of no service failures, accidents, cargo claims or motorist complaints since joining Prime in March, 1995. They each earned a gold ring with two diamonds for achieving the three-year level Prime Time Certified Award for on-time performance. During the month of September, the Morris' have logged 19,905 miles at an average fuel cost of 21 cents per mile. "Robert and Judy always give 110% to their job and the customers," said fleet manager Don Walcher. "They are always on- time and are very customer service oriented."

August 1998 - Refrigerated
Carris Toothman is the Prime Refrigerated Division Contractor of the Month for August. Since joining Prime in October, 1996, Toothman has had no accidents, cargo claims or motorist complaints. He has achieved the one-year level Prime Time Certified award for on-time performance. He is currently starting on his third year of his three-year lease with Prime's Success Leasing program. In the month of August, Toothman logged 22,630 team miles at an average fuel cost of 17 cents per mile. "Carris is an outstanding individual and a dedicated worker," said fleet manager Stan Auman.

August 1998 - Flatbed
Russel Gookin has been named Prime's Flatbed Division Contractor of the Month for August. In the month of August, Gookin averaged 13,111 solo miles and a fuel cost of 20 cents per mile. Gookin has a flawless record of no service failures, accidents or motorist complaints. He has earned the five-year level Prime Time Certified Award for on-time performance, earning him a gold ring with three diamonds. Upon completion of this lease, Gookin has started on his second consecutive lease with Prime's Success Leasing program. "Russell is very proud of what he does and gives 110% every time he is out on the road," said fleet manager Don Walcher.

July 1998 - Refrigerated
John and Terri Weeks are the Prime Refrigerated Division Contractors of the Month for July. Since joining Prime in April, 1994, the Weeks have had no cargo claims or motorist complaints. They have achieved the three-year level Prime Time Certified award for on-time performance earning them each a gold ring with one diamond. The Weeks have completed a three-year lease with Prime's Success Leasing program and are currently working on their second. In the month of July, Weeks logged 22,423 miles at an average fuel cost of 16 cents per mile. "John and Terri are excellent drivers to work with and they always get the job done accurately," said fleet manager Shane Hensley. "They believe in the Prime system and they know how to make it happen."

July 1998 - Flatbed
Prime's Flatbed Division named John Owens its July Contractor of the Month. Owens has a flawless record of no service failures, accidents, cargo claims or motorist complaints since joining Prime in May, 1997. He has earned the one-year level Prime Time Certified award for on-time performance. During the month of July, Owens logged 9,419 solo miles at an average fuel cost of an outstanding 15 cents per mile. "Johnny is an ideal Prime representative," said fleet manager William Signaigo. "He is always on time and is very customer service oriented."

June 1998 - Refrigerated
Darold Brown is the Prime Refrigerated Division Contractor of the Month for June. Since joining Prime in April, 1992, Brown has had no service failures, preventable accidents, cargo claims or motorist complaints. He has achieved the six-year level Prime Time Certified award for on-time performance earning him a gold ring with five diamonds. He has completed two three-year leases with Prime's Success Leasing program and soon will be starting his third lease. In the month of June, Brown logged 12,922 solo miles at an average fuel cost of an outstanding 16 cents per mile. "Darold dedicates himself to Prime and he is always wanting to excel. He suffered a medical problem the last three weeks before his lease was completed, but Darold did not give up," said driver manager Max Kubin. "I am proud he was selected Contractor of the Month."

June 1998 - Flatbed
Prime's Flatbed Division named Jerri and Gary Lowry its June Contractors of the Month. The Lowrys have a flawless record of no service failures, accidents, cargo claims or motorist complaints. During the month of June, the Lowrys logged 16,536 team miles at an average fuel cost of only 16 cents per mile. "Jerri and Gary are a very efficient husband and wife team," said fleet manager Don Walcher. "They are a great asset to Prime and our customers."

May 1998 - Refrigerated
Charles McCall is the Prime Refrigerated Division Contractor of the Month for May. Since joining Prime in July, 1991, McCall has had no accidents, cargo claims or motorist complaints. He has achieved the four-year level Prime Time Certified award for on-time performance earning him a gold ring with three diamonds. He has completed one three-year lease with Prime's Success Leasing program and is currently working on his second. In the month of May, McCall logged 14,421 solo miles at an average fuel cost of 21 cents per mile. "Charles is an outstanding individual and a very hard worker," said fleet manager Shane Hensley. "He is always willing to help out."

May 1998 - Flatbed
David Hahn is the Prime Flatbed Division Contractor of the Month. Hahn has a flawless record of no service failures, accidents, cargo claims or motorist complaints. He has earned the one-year level Prime Time Certified Award for on-time performance. During the month of May, Hahn logged 9,419 solo miles running exclusively intrastate Texas loads at an average fuel cost of only 17 cents per mile. "David is an ideal Prime representative," said fleet manager Kelly Woodard. "He is always on time and is very customer service oriented. He has earned this award and all of the respect that accompanies it."

April 1998 - Refrigerated
Charles Gary was chosen as Prime's Refrigerated Division Contractor of the Month for April. Gary has had no preventable accidents, service failures, cargo claims, or motorist complaints since joining the Prime Refrigerated team in June, 1995. Gary logged an outstanding 25,375 team miles in the month of April at an average fuel cost of only 17 cents per mile. He has achieved the one year and six month level Prime Time Certified award for continuous on-time performance. "Charles is an exceptional operator," says fleet manager Ronnie Welker. "He is hard working and committed to giving customers the best possible service available."

April 1998 - Flatbed
Prime's Flatbed Division selected Tim Prouty as its April Contractor of the Month. He logged 15,420 solo miles in April, averaging a fuel cost of 18 cents per mile. Since joining Prime in August, 1996, Prouty has not had a single service failure, cargo claim, or motorist complaint and has earned the one-year level Prime Time Certified award for continuous on-time performance. "Tim is truly one of a kind," says fleet manager Don Walcher. "He is tops in every category, from on-time delivery to customer service."

March 1998 - Refrigerated
William Adkins was chosen as Refrigerated Division Contractor of the Month for March. Adkins has had no preventable accidents, cargo claims, or driver complaints since joining the Prime Refrigerated team in April, 1994. He has achieved the two-year level Prime Time Certified award for continuous on-time performance earning him a gold ring with one diamond. Adkins logged an outstanding 21,708 team miles in the month of March at an average fuel cost of 18 cents per mile. He is now on his second consecutive three-year lease after receiving a payout of $20,538 upon completion of his first lease in July, 1997. "Bill is a Prime example of what a driver can achieve through hard work and attention to detail, "says fleet manager Max Kubin. "Nothing is too much to ask of Bill; the word "can't" doesn't exist in his vocabulary."

March 1998 - Flatbed
Prime's Flatbed Division has chosen David Cole as its March Contractor of the Month. He logged 19,808 team miles in March, averaging a fuel cost of 19 cents per mile. Since joining Prime in September, 1993, Cole has not had a preventable accident, service failure, cargo claim, or driver complaint. He has reached the four-year level of Prime Time Certified awards, earning him a gold ring with three diamonds. "David continually strives for perfection, " says fleet manager Don Walcher, "He takes pride in his driving and works hard at being one of the best."

February 1998 - Refrigerated
Prime's Refrigerated Division has chosen Ron Cochran as its Contractor of the Month for February. Cochran has had no accidents, cargo claims, or complaints since joining the Prime refrigerated team in November, 1991. He has earned the three-year level Prime Time Certified (PTC) award for continuous on-time performance. Cochran logged an outstanding 21,442 team miles in the month of February at an average fuel cost of 24 cents per mile. "Ron is very devoted to his profession," says fleet manager Wally Anthony. "Drivers don't get much better than this."

February 1998 - Flatbed
Prime's Flatbed Division has selected Joe Dewett as its February Contractor of the Month. He logged 14,869 miles in February, averaging a fuel cost of 21 cents per mile. Since joining Prime in September, 1997, Dewett has not had an accident, service failure, cargo claim, or complaint and has reached the six-month level of Prime Time Certified (PTC) awards for continuous on-time performance. "Ron is a die-hard driver," says fleet manager Don Walcher. "He gets up from every setback only letting each one make him stronger."

January 1998 - Refrigerated
Jim and Cynthia Patrick were selected as January's Refrigerated Division Contractors of the Month. They have not had an accident, service failure, cargo claim or complaint since joining Prime in March, 1996. The Patricks logged 16,973 miles during the month of January at an average fuel cost of 18 cents per mile. "Jim and Cindy are honest, reliable people," said fleet manager Shane Hensley. "They have balanced their priorities by raising two kids while on the road." Now on their second consecutive lease with Prime's Success Leasing program, the Patricks take time off during the summer to spend with their children.

January 1998 - Flatbed
Prime's Flatbed Division has chosen Russ and Cheryl Folden as its January Contractors of the Month. They logged 13,777 miles in January averaging a fuel cost of 20 cents per mile. Since joining Prime in June, 1996, the Foldens have never had an accident, service failure, cargo claim, or complaint. "Russ and Cheryl are out there to help the company as much as themselves," said fleet manager Brett VonWiller. "In addition to being great drivers, they are also great friends of mine."
