CHD: A Division of Prime Inc.

All qualified solo company drivers can start at $0.34 - $0.38 per mile (based on previous driving experience) with the base pay going up to $0.42 per mile; teams start at $0.40 per mile split.  CHD pays for all authorized miles, both loaded and empty.  Company drivers at CHD receive a mileage rate increase based on the number of miles driven. 

The mileage accumulates from the driver's first load (it is possible to get some credit for miles driven before driving for Prime), and of course includes all loaded and empty miles. So YOU determine how quickly you advance up the pay scale!


What does this mean to you?

Let's consider a starting team running an average of 6,000 miles per week and using an average of 6.5 MPG. Here's how the Team Driver mileage compensation would be broken down:

Team Mileage Pay:
.40¢ per mile x 6000 miles =
$2400 in Driver Wages
Team Bonus Mileage Pay:
(see table above, 10¢ per mile for each mile in excess of 3500 miles)
10¢ per mile x 2500 miles =
$250 Team Bonus
MPG Fuel Bonus :
(obtainable, 4¢ per mile at fuel consumption rate of 6.5 MPG)
4¢ per mile x 6000 miles =
$240 Fuel Bonus
Maintaining an average of 6000 miles
per week and 6.5 MPG, a team would
earn $151,320 per year!
WEEKLY TOTAL:
$2,910
(.48 ½ ¢ per mile)

Additional Pay (Solo and Team)
Drop Pay is paid per drop to the truck excluding the first pickup and last drop
Layover Pay: Each driver is paid layover pay for each 24 hours after the first 24 hours
Inspection Awards: When the tractor, trailer, and driver pass a roadside DOT with no deficiencies the driver is paid an inspection award.
Unload Pay: On the occasion when a driver fingerprints a load he/she is paid Unload Pay by the pound or per piece (whichever amount is greater).
Team Mileage Pay: Paid for productivity over 3500 miles, will earn additional team mileage pay for each mile in excess of 3500 miles.
 
  • Major Medical, Pharmacy Card, Dental Insurance and Life Insurance are made available at reasonable rates to all Prime associates. Company drivers may choose to use a Cafeteria Plan for purchasing your insurance.

  • Basic Life Insurance: $15,000 Natural Death / $30,000 Accidental Death Benefit: < 1 year service is $.82/wk, after 1 year service $.54/wk.

  • "Prime Time Certified" (PTC) Award Program recognizes driver associates who achieve outstanding on-time performance. These PTC awards are earned on quarterly and yearly basis of continuous on-time performance. Awards include patches, belt buckles, shirts and sweaters. At the 2-year level, associates receive a gold ring with on diamond. With every additional year of continuous on-time service, a diamond is added to the ring.

  • "Millionaires" Program recognizes driver associates who have driven at least one million miles without a preventable accident. Qualifying driver associates receive a prize package and a personalized plaque displayed prominently in Prime's hall of Fame located in the terminal. The "Gold Level", Prime's highest level of safety achievement, is awarded to those who have driven a million miles at Prime. The "Silver Level" is awarded to driver associates who have accumulated a million miles or more throughout their driving career at various carriers, including Prime.

  • Safety Award Program recognized driver associates who operate without a preventable accident. Awards, which include exclusive pins, hats, patches and jackets, are given after 6 months, 1 year, and then every year thereafter.

  • Worker's Compensation Coverage is provided by Prime. In addition, Prime pays a portion of the medical and life insurance premiums.

  • 401-K Success Sharing Plan is available to company drivers beginning the first full quarter after being with Prime one year. Drivers can place 1% up to 50%, to cap at $15,000 per year, of their pay into the plan. Prime's 401-K profit sharing matching amount* is 50¢ for each dollar saved ( as of February, 2005), up to 6% of pay. Prime associates are able to select the investments and the percentage placed in each investment and become 100% vested after five years with Prime.

  • Home Policy gives a driver 24 hours off for every 7 days worked.

  • Paid Vacation Vacation accrues once A seat status is obtained. (See chart below.)

    750,000 miles=$500 (one week)

    875,000 miles=  $1,100 (two weeks)
    1,000,000 miles=  $1,100 (two weeks)
    1,125,000 miles=  $1,100 (two weeks)
    1,250,000 miles=  $1,100 (two weeks)
    1,375,000 miles=  $1,100 (two weeks)

  • Passenger Policy:12 years and older. (Limit: 1 rider with approval & authorization)

  • Pet Policy No pets are allowed on any company equipment. If you have a pet that rides with you check the pet policy for Independent Contractors
