(November, 1999) Prime Inc., a leading international refrigerated and flatbed truckload carrier based in Springfield, Missouri, announced that it raised over $6,600 for The Nurturing Center, a childcare center located in downtown Springfield. In order to raise the funds, the Prime Kids Learning Center committee invited all Prime and Nurturing Center children and families to participate in a Halloween party on Friday, October 29. Children were treated to cookies, punch, games, prizes and other fun and exciting activities. In addition to encouraging donations of much needed items to The Nurturing Center, Prime held an inter-office contest to raise money to be used to purchase educational items. Donations of $3,309.36 were collected between October 18-22 and Prime donated an equal amount, placing the total contribution to The Nurturing Center at $6,618.72. A portion of the proceeds were used to replace the flooring in one large room at The Nurturing Center. Labor and materials for this project were provided at cost by Wilkerson Commercial Flooring. Constructive Playthings provided a diaper changing table at a discounted price. $735 worth of fencing materials and labor were a gift from Fence By Carnahan-White.
