| Randy Price, Directing Manager of Corporate Security for Prime Inc., a leading international refrigerated, flatbed and liquid bulk truckload carrier headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, recently received the highest honor given to a professional in the field of motor carrier security.
The American Trucking Associations (ATA) and the Safety & Loss Prevention Management Council selected Price as the first-ever ATA Security Professional of the Year. In a letter to Prime President Robert Low, ATA Interim President and CEO William Canary says, "We are confident you will agree that this is quite an honor for Randy, and for Prime Inc." Low responds by saying, "We are indeed honored by this award. Randy is an outstanding representative of the proactive approach Prime takes in security measures."
For the first time ever, the Council and Awards Committee wanted to recognize and reward the significant achievements and contributions of a security professional who exceeded the scope of his or her normal responsibilities to advance the profession. According to Canary, "the committee felt that Randy possessed all the qualities that embodied the spirit of the award," sponsored by Transport Security, Inc./Magtec, "and is a true professional who goes above and beyond."
Price was presented the ATA Security Professional of the Year award in a ceremony held in conjunction with the Safety & Loss Prevention Management Council's Fall Conference on September 26, at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. He received a plaque, gift and $1,000.
