Prime Announces Winners At Annual Picnic, Driving Championships

Prime Inc., a leading international refrigerated, flatbed and liquid bulk truckload carrier headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, held its annual Summer Picnic on Saturday, May 25 at Bass Country Inn in Springfield. Prime associates enjoyed games, activities, great food, a live band, swimming, basketball, volleyball and a techno fair. The day's events also featured two competitive events that the public attended.

The Truck Driving Championships tested drivers' skills on a course designed to simulate various situations drivers actually encounter on the highway each day. The following is a list of the winners of this event. Flatbed Division: 1st Place - David York; 2nd Place - Mark Van Horn; and 3rd Place - Thomas Bayslinger. Reefer Division: Michael Juergensen - 1st Place; Joseph Carberg - 2nd Place, and Gregg Barron - 3rd Place.

In addition, several of the participants in the picnic competition qualified for the state competition which was held in Joplin, Missouri. Winners at the state level were;

Others who qualified and participated were Randall Barron, Bob Conger, Bill Girdler, Duane Grimme, Steve Yarbrough, Charlie Hibbard, Michael Juergensen, and David York.

The Truck Pride & Polish Competition determined who has the best looking, best cared for trucks at Prime. The following prizes were awarded in both Owner Operator and Lease Operator categories: Best In Class, owner operator was Linda Martinez; Best In Class, lease operator went to Tomas Aranda, who also won Best In Show and the People's Choice Award. Thomas also won 1st Place in Pride & Polish in conjunction with the Los Vegas trucking show.
