- A valid driver's license and be at least 21 years old.
- No careless or reckless convictions in the last 3 years.
- No DWI's or any alcohol convictions in the last 5 years.

Once you graduate from a driver training program and obtain your Commercial Driver's License (CDL), you will then be scheduled for Prime's 3-day, new-hire orientation.
After you have completed your orientation, you will spend 4 to 6 months with a quality selected driver trainer/lease operator. During this time, your trainer will work with you to perfect your driving skills and teach you how to become a profitable lease operator. Graduates of approved schools will have tuition reimbursed at a rate of $250 per month up to 6 months.
Prime guarantees all students will earn a minimum of $400 per week in the first 30 days. Then $500 per week minimum for the remaining weeks of training (if the CDL is through the Prime program)
During your training period, you can expect to be out for four to six weeks at a time. Once you become a lease operator, you will then be able to set your own schedule for getting back home. There is no compensation during your training for the first 3 weeks if you are in Prime's school or an approved school. However, once you complete your orientation and receive your first dispatch, you will be considered a "C" seat driver associate and will be paid per mile for all loaded and unloaded miles. The entire training process should be three months minimum up to 6 months. You will be asked to sign an operating agreement. Due to the high cost of recruiting and training entry level driver associates, Prime requires that you work for them for at least one year from the date which you are first dispatched. The average Prime lease operator will spend four to six weeks on the road at a time. Lease operators determine their own home time policy and the longer they stay out on the road, generally the more money they are able to make. As a Prime driver associate, you can live anywhere in the United States and hand pick your own truck. Spouses or passengers are allowed after your training period is complete. What else is there? Prime also features an attractive fuel bonus program, a safety bonus plan, on-time delivery bonus, a mileage incentive bonus and other bonus programs. Prime offers major medical and life insurance coverage. The eligibility period begins 90 days from date of hire. Individual and family coverage is available with medical claims inside the PPO being paid at 80/20, and outside the PPO at 60/40. Life insurance, valued at $15,000, is also available.
