Are You Eligible to Drive for Prime?
Driver Qualifications
In order for your application to be accepted, Prime drivers must meet several requirements and provide multiple forms of identification. For example, you must be at least 21 years of age with a valid US driver’s license. You are also required to meet FMCSA’s medical requirements and pass a DOT physical before you can drive for Prime or begin CDL training. Prime evaluates your work history, criminal record and motor vehicle record when reviewing your application.
Start Your Application Process
Applying to Prime
When you apply for a commercial truck driving job at Prime, you will complete our online application and follow up with a recruiter by phone. The recruiter will review your application, ask about your career interests and answer any questions you may have. If your application is approved, you will be invited to driver orientation at a Prime terminal near you.
Step Two

You might have questions about driving for Prime. We want to answer them! Contact a recruiter at 877-774-6356. We’ll answer your questions, address your concerns and walk you through the rest of the application process.
Step Four
Attend Driver Orientation
Once approved, you will receive an orientation letter inviting you to Prime. The letter contains information about the orientation process for new truck drivers, what to pack and what to expect. Prime will cover your hotel stay and three hot meals per day during orientation. You’ll complete a DOT physical and drug test, interview and computer-based training.

Apply Online
The first step to becoming a Prime truck driver is to apply online. The application takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and can be filled out on a mobile device or desktop computer.
Step Three
Application Review & Processing
A Prime recruiter will ensure you meet our qualifications and confirm your interest and preferred start date. Your application will be processed. We’ll run a Motor Vehicle Report, CDLIS, DAC and background reports. Our team will also verify your last three years of employment or education.

Pay & Benefits
Company truck drivers and teams earn competitive pay per mile based on the trucking division. As a company driver, you will have medical, dental and life insurance options, as well as paid vacation time. Owner-operators earn a percentage of the linehaul and receive financial incentives for each year they work with Prime.
