Here are the requirements for refrigerated, flatbed and tanker divisions that you need to meet to drive under Prime’s DOT authority.
Refrigerated
- Must be 2017 model or newer
- Trucks are reviewed for renewal every five years.
- Wheelbase: 244” or less
- Weight: 18,200 lbs or less with ¼ tank of fuel, gear and driver on board.
- Must be equipped with roll stability and a collision avoidance system.
- All trucks are governed 65 mph
Flatbed
- Must be 2017 model or newer
- Trucks are reviewed for renewal every five years.
- Wheelbase: 265” or less
- Weight: 20,200 lbs or less with ¼ tank of fuel, gear and driver on board.
- Must be equipped with roll stability and a collision avoidance system.
- All trucks are governed 65 mph
Tanker
- Must be 2017 model or newer
- Trucks are reviewed for renewal every five years.
- Wheelbase: 244” or less
