Expansion enhances service to associates and customers
Exceptional customer service has been their corporate goal since Prime was founded in 1970, and it remains the key goal today as each and every load reaches its destination—safely, securely, and on time.
Prime’s most notable competitive advantage has always been great associates. They are top performers, but even top performers can be more efficient when they work in a modern, comfortable, and highly-productive environment. This is the philosophy which drives the current facilities at Prime.
Though the plans for expansion are extensive and far-reaching, Prime’s motive is simple—to enable each and every driving and non-driving associate alike to operate in an atmosphere which ensures their ability to perform to their absolute greatest capacity.
Prime has always made a concerted effort to recruit and retain the best trucking professionals, those who drive and those who support drivers, in the business. The changes taking place at Prime over the years truly are evidence of the company’s ongoing commitment to provide shippers with a level of service and support which they cannot receive anywhere else in North America.
Springfield, MO Headquarters
Open since January 2000, this 40,000-square foot "Millennium" complex at the Springfield, MO terminal contains a fitness center, a full size basketball court, convenience store, gift shop, movie theater, child care center, full-service salon and spa, an expanded cafeteria, showers, laundry facility, and many other amenities on site to support all of their associates. The Millennium Building also includes over 12,000-square feet of administrative offices as well as a state-of-the-art training center used for orientation classes for driving and non-driving associates. This building contains eight bays which are used for the fueling and inspection of Prime’s inbound and outbound trucks and trailers. Prime responded to feedback from driver associates and designed a system within the Plaza Building to allow trucks to fuel, get a complete DOT inspection, pick up necessary permits and supplies, and depart within 30 minutes.
Detail and Wash Bay
The detail and wash bay facility was created to help keep Prime’s equipment looking its best out on the road as it delivers freight across the country. The detail bays allow for the internal and external cleaning of tractors as well as the installation of truck equipment such as televisions, refrigerators, and more. The wash bays provide a truck-sized drive-through bay for the washing of both tractors and trailers.
The Campus Inn is Prime's main facility for driver training and orientation. Within the Campus Inn, you can find classrooms, a simulator training lab, a computer lab, a cafe, hotel rooms, driver lounge, a Sleep Pointe sleep lab, and more.
