Prime Inc., a leading international refrigerated and flatbed truckload carrier based in Springfield, Missouri, will host its annual company picnic on Saturday, May 27, at Ozark Mountain Duck Stadium. Two competitive events and a techno fair scheduled during the picnic will be open to the public, free of charge:
- 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. "Pride & Polish" (judging begins at 1:00 p.m.)
- 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Truck Driving Championship
- 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. "Show Me The Money" Techno Fair
Prime's fourth annual "Pride and Polish" contest determines which Prime drivers have the best-looking and best-cared-for trucks. Categories for the competition are Lease Operators and Owner/Operators. Trucks are scheduled to enter the show location at 10:00 a.m. Judging begins at 1:00 p.m., with no polishing allowed after that time. Winners are awarded trophies and cash prizes: $1,000 for "Best of Show," $750 for "Best in Class," and $500 for "People's Choice." Trucks must be off the grounds by 4:00 p.m.
Prime's Truck Driving Championship will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event is a test of close-quarters maneuvering and is open to all Prime drivers. Course layout and scoring are based on American Trucking Associations (ATA) standards. The company will send nine of its drivers, all expenses paid, to the state championship in Joplin, Missouri, on June 2, 2000. Only drivers with no accidents since June 2, 1999 are eligible for the state championship. State winners will proceed to the Nationals in New Orleans in August.
The "Show Me The Money" Techno Fair is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The fair showcases local vendors of trucking-related products and services and focuses on money savings. There will be drawings for prizes.
The annual company picnic is just one of the many ways Prime Inc. shows its appreciation to its Associates. All other activities and meals scheduled throughout the day are exclusive to Prime Associates.
