Dennis Davis & Bill Sprague – Safety

This week: 116 total inspections – 81 clean (70% clean rate)
- Plan your trip so you know where the scales are
- Wear your seatbelts properly at all times
This week was the CVSA safe driving week
- CVSA brake safety week will be August 21-27, 2022
We have had a huge decrease in accidents this year compared to this time last year.
- June 1 – July 10, 2021: 60 DOT recordables, 19 preventable
- June 1 – July 10, 2022: 30 DOT recordables, 6 preventable

Tyler Patrick – Maintenance Updates

High temperatures can cause an increase in issues with your trucks
- Double check tire pressures and tread during pre and post trip
  - Most reefer trailers have a spare tire
- Try not to idle as much to protect your APU
- Batteries can tend to wear down in the heat
Protect yourself in the heat also
- Stay hydrated
- Wear a hat
- Park in the shade if you can
Pro maintenance classes are offered Tuesdays and Thursday at both the Springfield and Pittston terminals
- This class can help you save money and reduce your downtime

Sam Messick – Comdata Card Fraud

Starting Monday: Comdata card proximity will begin
- This means if your card is not at the same fueling station as your truck, you (or anyone else) can’t use the card
- Please feel free to give us feedback so we can fix any potential issues with this program

Bill Boehning – Securing Equipment

If you have to drop equipment in an unsecure location, notify your fleet manager
Use Abloy locks which are available in the company store
Back up bumper to bumper with another truck
